AI is popping up everywhere these days, and one place you've probably noticed it is at the top of Google search results. Google's AI-generated answers can sometimes be helpful, but they can also be misleading or just plain wrong, depending on where the info comes from. If you'd rather not deal with them, there are actually a few ways to turn them off.
Get AI Off Your Search Results
One funny trick that will work to remove AI from your search results is to simply start your search with a certain four-letter curse word (you know the one). If you'd rather keep things clean (and avoid weird search results), however, here are some better options:
- Click on the Web tab after searching. It takes an extra step, but it’s the easiest fix.
- Add -ai to your search to filter out AI-generated results.
- Use a browser extension to block AI results entirely. If you're on Chrome, Edge, Brave, or Firefox, there are extensions that can do this. Just check with IT first if you're on a work device.
